Ranch dressing

This salad with homemade ranch and smoked almonds is so much better than the pizza! Jason will argue with me about that of course.  Ranch mix is very expensive and some restaurants have such good ranch, I thought I would look for a recipe online.  This one has lots of "optional ingredients"  that are all good.  I added each one and tasted it after each addition.  It was good with just the sauce and Johnny's garlic powder from Costco.

RANCH DRESSING
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
Buttermilk, as needed to thin to desired consistency
1-2 cloves of Garlic, or 1/2-1 tsp of Johnny's garlic herbs from Costco (good stuff)
Salt to taste

Optional ingredients-
2 Tablespoons fresh chives or 1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/4 cp Italian flat leaf parsley
White vinegar to taste
Worcestershire sauce
Fresh dill (or dried)
Cayenne Pepper
Paprika
Fresh oregano (or dried)
Tabasco (gives it a spicy kick)

For real garlic, mince with a knife and then add 1/8 tsp. salt to it and mash it to a paste with a fork.
Mix all the ingredients plus what you want of the optional ingredients.
Chill for a couple of hours before serving.
